sendero hotel + Villas

The hotel and villas take their name from "sendero," the Spanish word for a short path or trail - a central theme throughout the properties. VIDA was engaged to develop a masterplan that integrated F&B terraces, 25 guestrooms and 7 luxury villas, and a surf outpost, carefully considering guests' privacy through a balance between public and private spaces. VIDA integrated an internal stone path that ties all the design elements together, serving as the connective tissue of the space in a natural, exploratory, and organic manner. The design featured an iconic pool that felt seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings while offering a unique experience from multiple vantage points. The captivating dark-hued pool, a central feature of the design, was crafted using locally sourced stone and terracotta, creating a statement that felt both regionally inspired and striking. The planting palette was visually dramatic and impactful, featuring a variety of foliage such as Molineria capitulata, Alocasia odora, Licuala grandis, and Phoenix robelinii.
