Community is built through collaboration and shared experiences. The vision for the Ranch Motel was to transform it into more than just a place to stay - it's a community hub where people could come together. VIDA had the opportunity to work alongside life-long friend Jayson Seidman, owner of Sandstone - a boutique real estate hospitality company in the co-development of this former Texas motor motel. The property's historic charm, prime location in the heart of the city on Broadway Avenue, and its proximity to Brackenridge Park, made it a unique investment. The team's aim was to position the property as an extenstion of the park, creating  a community-orientated space suited to biking, socializing, pickleball whilst minimizing vehicular presence.

What used to be a motel parking lot has now been transformed into a natural oasis complete with a heated swimming pool. A key amenity which is proving very popular with members and guests is the pickleball courts that were constructed under the shade of a forest of existing elm trees. The project is supported by annual and lifetime members further connecting the hotel to the broader community. Plans are underway for a wellness program and an outdoor gathering space, further cementing the motel's transformation into a vibrant community hub. This project has given VIDA the opportunity to breathe new life into this once-forgotten historic site through preservation efforts that celebrate nature, history, along with plenty of character.
